Israel Post #2
There are many thing to see in Jerusalem! For starters, there are the religious sites. I implore the reader to visit some of these sites even if they are irreligious, or are not members of the specific faith. At all of these sites it is essential to remain respectful.
In addition to the religious sites, there are many other cool places to see. (I will only name a few, but there are still plenty of other locations!)
Mahane Yehuda Market is a great place to visit. Even if you are just gazing at the rows of spices, fruits, and other tasty things, the market is an awesome place to see. On Thursday night, everything is open late, and a ton of people go to the market. There is dancing, alcohol, and great food. If this appeals to you, it is totally worth checking out.
The Israel Museum is possibly the best museum in Israel. For starters, the museum houses the Dead Sea Scrolls. These scrolls are over 2,000 years old! The museum also has a model of Jerusalem. The model represents Jerusalem during the time of the Second Temple, and features the important Roman landmarks as well. Lastly, for those who like art, the museum houses an extensive collection of art. This museum really deserves multiple visits, but if you don’t have the time for that, I recommend coming up with a game-plan before visiting.
Yad Vashem is one of the most powerful museums I have ever been to. The museum is Israel’s memorial to the victims of the Holocaust. It is a heavy experience, but one that I recommend everyone experiences.
